U.S. C a n c e r S t a t i s t i c s The Off icial Federal Cancer Stat ist ics Data Visualizations Tool The U.S. Cancer Statistics DataVisualizations tool is an easy way to find and explore the latest data on melanoma. Using this resource, you can create maps and tables by state, county, and demographic characteristics. Data come from CDC’s National Program of Cancer Registries and NCI’s Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program combined, providing the latest statistics on melanoma covering the entire U.S. population. New cancer cases and cancer deaths data are updated annually. The tool also provides trends over time, prevalence, survival, and county-level data, and data interpretation to provide plain explanations of what the data mean. Public Use Database The U.S. Cancer Statistics Public Use Database includes melanoma incidence and population data for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.The de-identified data are available online, at no cost, for researchers to conduct scientific inquiries into rare cancers and cancer trends.
